With its small installation space, easy maintenance, reliability and low cost, cable reels have replaced conductor lines and become the mainstream solution in the field of mobile transmission (power, data and fluid media).

Cable Specifications and Types

The cross-sectional area of the cable is from 1.0 ~ 240mm², and the outer diameter of the cable directly affects the axial size and power demand of the reel. When the cable cross-section is 35 mm², non-motorized reels should not be chosen, and flat cables can only be used for axial single-row reels. The cable should be power cable and control signal cable, etc., which are soft and have a certain tensile strength.

Winding Length

Affect the radial size of the reel and the power demand, the longer the length, the higher the power requirements. It is difficult to complete the winding of large strokes with non-motorized cable drums. The selection of the ground power anchor also directly affects the selection of the cable reel, and the power anchor is the common end of the power supply and the power supply point. Non-electromagnetically coupled types cannot be selected for neutral point power supplies.

Equipment Movement Speed

Affect the motor power and transmission ratio of the electric cable reel, when the equipment moves at a speed of more than 60 m/min, the frequency conversion control type (BP series) should be selected.

Installation Height

Influencing the motor power of motorized cable reels, the higher the mounting height, the greater the power requirement. Installation should not exceed the design requirements.

The above four parameters are the basis for the design and selection of cable reels, which should be considered comprehensively, and the structure and arrangement of cable reels should be considered to meet the requirements of actual working conditions.
